Quality & Food Safety Quality Vision, Mission, Strategy, Business Plan

A vision without a strategy remains an illusion.

Vision and mission statements are important components of strategic planning. The vision statement is future focused and paints a vivid picture of where you would like the organization to be or what you would like it to accomplish in the long term. Mission is focused on the present and describes the purpose of your organization or why it exists. The Quality vision and mission should reflect and support the company’s overall mission and vision hence support driving profitability and business success.

The strategy defines the objectives (high level, business oriented), goals (specific and measurable, can be medium or long term), strategic pillars to achieve the objectives and goals, as well as specific actions (short term). A Quality business plan typically provides details of the strategic pillars and specific actions together with a time dimension, typically 2-3 years. The quality strategy and the systems to support this must be absolutely aligned and integrated with the core business strategy and the core business systems.
